The creative mind behind Taluna Collective Brisbane - Tamarin

Tamarin, the creative mind behind Taluna Collective, is a Brisbane designer who believes in the power of natural, sustainable fabrics. Each piece in the collection is crafted with care, designed to embody effortless style while promoting sustainability. As Tamarin prepared to launch her brand, she needed a branding shoot that would introduce her as the face of Taluna without feeling too formal or out of place alongside her other content.

Since Taluna Collective is named after Tamarin and her beloved dog, Luna, it was essential to include Luna in the shoot, adding a personal touch to the imagery. The goal was clear: create a boho-inspired Queensland vibe that would appeal to a younger audience, while still positioning Tamarin as the designer rather than just a model.

The location we selected had to align with the brand’s essence, natural, earthy, and grounded. We chose an open field with long, unkempt grass to reflect the sustainable fabrics and earthy tones in her collection. With minimal distractions in the background, the focus remained on the clothing and Tamarin’s role as the creative force behind Taluna.

To create a fashion-forward, editorial feel, I shot from unique angles and using a ladder for overhead shots, shooting through tall grass for natural framing, and positioning Tamarin on a stool in the open field to allow the space and garments to breathe. As the sun softened during golden hour, we were able to capture the ethereal, glowing images that perfectly reflect Taluna’s aesthetic.

Tamarin’s wardrobe for the shoot consisted of pieces from her own collection, ensuring brand cohesion. Even Luna wore a Taluna-designed bandana, making the story of the brand even more personal. To complete the outdoor boutique setup, we used a clothing rack made from a tree branch, adding a luxury touch with rose gold hangers to complement the silk and cotton fabrics.

The resulting image collection is a versatile, editorial gallery that Tamarin can use across her website, social media, and promotional materials. The shoot reflects the brand’s natural beauty, sustainability, and the craftsmanship behind each garment. By focusing on natural textures and positioning Tamarin as a designer, we created visuals that align seamlessly with Taluna’s ethos.
